15 Years

15 years ago today, on a lovely fall day, I said ''I do'' to my soul mate and best friend. We have been together, through thick and thin, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, forever do us part. Today I look at my children and I am so glad that Gord is their father and that we are a family. I love our little family and I wouldn't have this today if we did not say ''I do'' 15 years ago.
Happy Anniversay Gordie! I love you.

Forever Family Day #6

THEN - 2003

NOW - 2009

Today, we celebrated our 6th Forever Day with our sweet Cara-Li. As we do every year, we began our day with me sliding into bed with her and hugging the bejesus out of her while telling her that I am the luckiest Mommy in the whole wide world. We normally try to take this day off of work in order to spend the entire day together as a family but this year due to many employees on vacation, I was unable to do so :( I did leave early so that we could head down to Chinatown where she was allowed to buy anything she wanted in any of the shops and, of course, we had the best Chinese dinner. It was soooo yummy as it was our first real meal in two weeks (more about this later). Our day also ended as it usually does on Forever Family Day. Cara-Li crawls on my belly and I stroke her hair until she falls asleep, just like we did 6 years ago in China. I love this day... it is my favorite celebration of the year! I love you my sweet Cara-Li!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

That's right... yesterday was our 14th wedding anniversary! Look at us... we look like babies! I looked in the mirror this AM and this old lady stared back at me. Oh well. Good news is that after 14 years together, Gord is still the love of my life! Happy Anniversary Sweetheart!

In order to celebrate, we went to a fancy French restaurant downtown. It was very good, a restaurant I would have considered excellent years ago but in my old age, I have become much more picky and recognizing the difference between very good and excellent. That's OK... we had a great time alone and what did we do the whole time? Talk about our daughetrs!

We are in a mad rush this week preparing for my baby brother's wedding this coming Saturday. I am in charge of the flowergirl baskets and I must prepare food to serve at my Mom's house for any guests dropping in before and after the wedding. I have yet to try on my dress together with the shoes and therefore do not know If I need to hem the dress. Yeah, I know! I better get to it! I did pick up their gift yesterday. Check back in on Sunday. I should have pics up of the wedding.

Gotta Love Anniversaries!

One year ago today, we arrived home from China with our newest addition, Alexia. I remember the amazing feeling of being home, sleeping in our own bed and just the thrill of beginning our life as a family of four. It is such an amazing high!

I mentionned this anniversary to Gord yesterday and he became very insistent that we have lunch together today to celebrate. Mondays are never a good day for me to leave the store but I figured, what the hay, he is so gung ho about it. What's up with that?? And he is leaving for Toronto for the entire week for work AND is missing my birthday. However, when I got to work today, we were short-staffed and therefore, it was impossible for me to leave. So Gord joined me for lunch in my office and over a Big Mac, this is what he handed over to me....

It was wrapped of course with a lovely card. A diamond and sapphire tennis bracelet!! To die for!! The occasion... for having Alexia. It is a lovely tradition that I heard about years ago (Gord is convinced that I made it up). Husband gives a piece of jewelery to his wife at the arrival of their child and then that piece of jewelery is handed down to them when they are older. It is a little late as Alexia has been with us for a year but one should not complain. Did you see what I got?? A tennis bracelet!!!!

This is what was given to me for Cara-Li's arrival.

In case you haven't noticed, I love sapphires. And it is my birthstone. I wonder if Gord knows that....
